The authorities of the Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have announced a strategic engagement with the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC). The initiative is in furtherance of the youth empowerment and sustainable sports development efforts by the administration of Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun.
The announcement was made following a strategic meeting on Wednesday with the LSSC Director -General, Hon. Lekan Fatodu, alongside other senior staff of the commission; Mr. Deji Aladegbemi, Director of Facilities, Mr. Tunde Durosimi, and Mr. Solomon Adetokunbo.

Omo’ba Aroyewun was accompanied by Comrade Olalekan Biliamin -Oba, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Development and Mr. Oladapo Lawanson, a certified sports administrator and co-owner of Comfort-Edge Football Club, to the meeting held at the Teslim Balogun office of the LSSC Director -General.
The engagement focused on building stronger partnerships and developing practical, impactful strategies for sports advancement and social development within IBLCDA.

The meeting reinforced the Aroyewun led administration’s deliberate investment in youth development through sports, with priority initiatives to include: Provision of essential sports facilities across primary schools in all five wards of the LCDA; Organisation of the annual IBLCDA Sports Meet across Igbogbo, Ibeshe, Elepe, Baiyeku, Oreta, and Offin-Ile; Structured management and financial support for all IBLCDA sports teams and competitions and the Establishment of a standard Sports Club to nurture and harness local talents.
This strategic engagement with the Lagos State Sports Commission marks a significant milestone in the chairman’s resolve to create a vibrant and enabling environment where young people can discover, develop, and maximise their sporting potential.
