Ikorodu Mourns Two Popular Grassroots Politicians, Kalokalo, C – Cash

Hon. Kazeem Oni-Orisan and Alhaja Kudirat Owolabi

‎Political party members, associates and residents of Ikorodu have mourned the two popular grassroots politicians, Hon. Kazeem Oni -Orisan popularly called “Kalokalo” and Alhaja Kudirat Owolabi who is called “C – Cash” by friends and admirers, both who are members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu.

‎The two who are in their 50s answered the final calls barely 24 hours from the demise of each other.

‎While Hon. Oni-Orisan, a former Councillor in Ikorodu Local Government, died in hospital early morning on Tuesday, Late Alhaja Owolabi, a former Deputy Executive Secretary, Ikorodu Local Government, who has been sick for a while gave up the ghost on Wednesday at her Gbagada home.

‎The wake -keep for the former Councillor who is a leader in the Celestial Church of God (CCC) is slated for Thursday, February 4, 2026, and his remains will be interred on Friday.

‎Alhaja Owolabi will be buried on Thursday according to Islamic rites.

‎Meanwhile, family members, friends and associates of the two politicians have been expressing grief over their death which many described as untimely and shocking.

‎A grassroots politician in Ikorodu popularly called D Prof, lamented the deaths of the two vibrant and young politicians.

‎”I don’t understand this type of death that can just take the lives of our two vibrant political members just like that within 24hrs. in fact this life is mysterious.

‎”I think there’s more to these two people’s death.  They are very close friends to the best of my knowledge. God has Mercy upon us oooo,” he prayed.

‎Kolujo Group, a political platform of the former chairmanship aspirant for Ikorodu Local Government and former student leader, Comrade Japhet Odesanya, in a statement mourning the passage of a strong member of the group acknowledged Kalokalo’s loyalty and unwavering passion.

‎”With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of our dear brother and comrade. His passion, loyalty, and unwavering dedication to the people and our shared cause will forever live on. Though he is gone, his spirit remains with us always.

‎”Rest peacefully, our beloved.”

‎Dr (Hon) Samson Bisiriyu, a former chairmanship aspirant for Ikorodu North LCDA, described the death of the late former councillor as a rude shock.

‎”Egbon Kalokalo, as I always call you, is a rude shock to hear about your sudden death. But, who are we to question your Maker?  You are a good motivator and humble brother to me.

“May God accept your Soul and your peaceful transition. Adieu Egbon Kalokalo!”

‎A professional photographer and Chief Executive Officer, Fotovision, Alhaji Al-Amin Fatai, also expressing his shock at Hon. Oni -Orisan’s death, said:

‎”Still shocking to me that you have left us so soon, Kazeem Kalokalo. God, we Submit all unto you.”

‎Adeleke Fasanya, a grassroots mobiliser, also expressing his own shock prayed for the repose of Kalokalo’s soul.

‎”Haa !!! It’s still hard to believe that you are gone, Egbon mi, may the Lord accept your departure and also bless all you’ve left behind.

‎”REST ON ICON.”

Another grassroots politician, Mr. Francis “Mani Kongo” Shonubi, in his own tribute wrote:

‎“Rest in power my beloved Comrade KaloKalo…. Gone too soon!“

‎Prince Azeez Sarumi, Chairman, ANTP Ikorodu chapter also mourned the late Hon. Oni -Orisan.

‎“May your gentle soul rest in peace and may God forgive all your shortcomings. Rest well brother.

‎ “Ikorodu ku araferaku omo wa. Ao ni ri ateyin ku omo mo. Lagbara Olorun.”

‎Chief Lookman Alade Awomodu, a traditional Baale who was one of the few that broke the news of the death of late Alhaja Owolabi, also expressed his sadness in her untimely death.

“‎With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Allah.we announce the death of Alhaja Kudirat Owolabi a.k.a. C-Cash today.”

‎‎An ally of the former Deputy ES, Hon. Olasunkanmi Oshinowo, described her death as a big blow.

‎”Your departure is a big Blow.

‎”Keep resting My beloved…

‎”Sun re oooo.”

‎Adeleke Fasanya, also lamenting the death of C – Cash barely 24 hours after that of Kalokalo, wrote:

‎”How do we explain yet another painful exit of a respected Big Sister?

‎”Iku seeka. Iku doro.”
