Oriwu College Welcomes Southwest Best Performing Teacher

‎It was another celebration of excellence in academic performance on Friday at Oriwu College Ikorodu when staff and students of the premier college welcome Mr. Peter Obafemi Lawal, the Best Performing Teacher in Southwest, Nigeria.

‎Mr. Lawal won the South-West Best Performing Teacher Award at the 2026 Federal Ministry of Education National Teachers Award with N25million as prize money.

‎He teaches Senior Secondary Schools 1 to 3 in Government.

‎The Principal of Oriwu College Senior Model Ikorodu, Mrs Iyabo Elusakin, who herself is an award -winning teacher and schoo administrator, speaking with THE IMPACT described the teacher as a dedicated and committed teacher who is interested in the development of his students.

‎”Mr Lawal is a thoroughbred teacher who nurtures young minds passionately.

‎”This award is a testament to his commitment to his students’ academic excellence and moral focus, ” she said.

‎This is yet another big win for Oriwu Senior Model College, Ikorodu, under the leadership of Mrs. Elusakin and her team of dedicated teachers.
