Oba Adefarasin Assures Stakeholders Of Open, Participatory Reign In Ijede

The new Alajede of Ijede Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Hon.) Saheed Hassan Adefarasin, Ajanaku II, has assured the Alajede -in -Council, stakeholders and the entire residents of Ijede of an open and participatory administration.

Oba Adefarasin who was presented with the staff of office and certificate of recognition by the Government of Lagos State on January 9th, which signified his formal beginning of his reign, kicked -off his traditional coronation rites at the weekend to Igbo Ajede which was an historic moment for him and the entire people of Ijede Kingdom.

The Alajede also called for cooperation and support of the people.

Alajede spoke with THE IMPACT after returning from the Igbo Ajede where he had successful traditional rites.

“Officially I have been crowned since 9th of January, but my entering into the Igbo Ajede is the commencement of the traditional rites.

“The entry is very historic with a large crowd accompanying me back home. People did not know that the traditional rites are commencing but immediately that they got to know about it they started trooping out en mass. You could see the mammoth crowd yourself.

“It was a joyous outing and people are happy to see that after 13 years of interregnum, Ajede has come to be.”

Oba Adefarasion emphasised his intention to bring everybody together and make his reign a participatory one.

“I have always been open to peace, reconciliation and cooperation. They should expect that it is not going to be a one – man show. It is going to be a collective one.

“I want cooperation of the Alajede -in – Council, stakeholders and that of the entire residents of Ijede. It is going to be an open -government. It will be a participatory reign. We have to work together- people can call to give advice and share their thoughts with me and we come out with a good resolution,” the royal father said.

After the successful commencement of the traditional rites at the Igbo Ajede on Saturday, Oba Adefarasin on Sunday was invited/hosted at the Osugbo Abalaye conclave and from there moved into a place of seclusion (Ipebi) where he is expected to be for sometime.
