The Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), has appointed Professor Shakiru Abiodun Okedeyi, as the Provost of its Postgraduate College.
Prof. Okedeyi, the pioneer Head of Department of Physics, LASUED, was, in June last year, promoted into full professorial status.
Dr Okedeyi was promoted as an Associate Professor in May 2023, and bagged his Ph.D., at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, in 2012, in Environmental Management and Toxicology with Specialization in Radiation Physics.
He was inducted as a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Physics (NIP) at the 44th Annual Congress of the institute, held at the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), May 2023.
Prof. Okedeyi is currently the Chairman of the Imota Ayayo Planning Day Committee, and a member of the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG).
Meanwhile, following his appointment, the Chairman, Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Sunday Benson, has congratulated the new Provost, describing his appointment as a testament to his exceptional qualities.

Prof. Okedeyi has also been congratulated by individuals and groups in Imota and across the Ikorodu Division.
The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Imota chapter, in a statement signed by its Coordinator, Comrade Oriyomi Adebogun and Secretary, Comrade Babatunde Jaiyeola, also described the elevation as a well -deserved one.
