Animashaun Blames LASG, Ikorodu Elites Over Lack Of Alternative Road To Lagos

A former Member of the Logos State House of Assembly, Hon Ola Animashaun, has described that lack of alternative route in and out of lkorodu, as a shame despite serious need for it.

‎He expressed his displeasure at what residents of lkorodu usually experience whenever there is a problem on the only way to Lagos.

‎Animashaun, who represented Ikorodu Constituency I between 1999 and 2003 on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) and later served as a Special Adviser to the Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, the former Minister of Works, blamed the Lagos State Government and the lkorodu elites for the failure of Ikorodu to have an alternative route, in a statement on his Facebook page on Friday.

‎Residents of lkorodu has, over the decades, demanded for an alternative route in and out of lkorodu to Lagos, and there has been efforts by stakeholders to search for alternative road.

‎Over a decade ago, the leadership in lkorodu set up a committee comprising Late Princess Adenrele Ogunsanya, former Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, former Majority Leade, Lagos State House of Assembly, Captain Benson and others, to search for an alternative route and the committee resolved at Owutu to Isheri to link the Lagos – Ibadan expressway.

‎THE IMPACT gathered that the proposal was submitted to the Lagos State Government, but since then, nothing has been heard about the issue.

‎”Shouldn’t it be considered a shame that there’s still no alternative road out of Ikorodu to Lagos? We suffer greatly anytime there’s an incident or a break down on that road. Lagos State government keeps budgeting trillions of naira for capital expenditure – how much of it is coming to Ikorodu?

‎”The APC political elites in Ikorodu should be ashamed. You should all prevail on the governor to make the alternative road happen in 2026″, he demanded while blaming the political leaders in Ikorodu.
