Hon. Gbadebo – Alogba Commissions Historic Five Blocks Of Classroom Across Ijede Schools

Hon. Saheed Hassan, APC apex leader in Ijede LCDA with Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo -Alogba, Chairman, Ijede LCDA, Hon. femi Kabir, Vice Chairman, Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo, Education Eletu Adeniyi Ajayi, Eletu of Oke -Eletu and others commissioning a block of six classrooms at Methodist Primary School, Oke -Eletu constructed by the administration of Hon. Gbadebo -Alogba on Wednesday.

The Executive Chairman, Ijede Local Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, on Wednesday commissioned multiple blocks of classrooms and toilet facilities in five different schools, setting the record as the first council administrator in Ikorodu to achieve such a feat.

The initiative is part of her administration’s efforts in expanding educational facilities and improve quality of education in Ijede LCDA, with Methodist Primary School, Oke Eletu; Anglican Primary School,Ijede; Anwar-ul-Islam Primary School Ijede; Egbin Kingdom Primary School Egbin and Abule-Eko Primary School, Ijede as benefiting schools.

The commissioning of the projects was done simultaneously with the Chairman, her Vice and other council officials and dignitaries performing the commissioning.

‎At the Methodist Primary School, Oke Eletu, where Hon. Gbadebo -Alogba was presented with a block of six classrooms which are furnished with desks and chairs, white boards and an additional block of six toilets was commissioned by Hon. Saheed Hassan Adefarasin, APC apex leader in Ijede LCDA and former two – term member, Lagos State House of Assembly.

At the school, the council chairman also constructed perimetre fencing around the school to provide security.

‎Speaking at the commissioning, Hon. Gbadebo -Alogba said that the commissioning emphasised the importance her administration attaches to education.

She stated that the new facilities across five primary schools in Ijede LCDA are meant to provide a conducive learning environment for pupils and staff.

“Today’s event reflects our administration’s unwavering commitment to improving the quality of basic education and providing a safe, conducive learning environment for our children. Education remains the bedrock of sustainable development, and we firmly believe that investing in school infrastructure is an investment in the future of Ijede LCDA and Lagos State at large.

“These additional classrooms and modern toilet facilities are designed to enhance teaching and learning, promote proper hygiene, and support the overall well-being of both pupils and teachers. This intervention aligns with our vision of building a progressive, inclusive, and education-friendly local council perfectly,” she said.

The local council executive chairman thanked stakeholders in Ijede for their support which she said has been of immense help to her administration. The council chairman also charged management and staff in all the schools to take ownership of the facilities and ensure proper maintenance.

“I urge the school management, teachers, and pupils to take ownership of these facilities and ensure they are properly utilized and well maintained for the benefit of present and future generations.”

Hon. Saheed Adefarasin, speaking at the commissioning, commended the chairman for the historic and landmark projects.

Hon. Adefarasin stated that he did his best during his own tenure as the council chairman He lauded Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba for making use of funds available for her to impact on the people and the community.

“I am happy today that we are commissioning five educational projects which are commendable. I want to congratulate her and her team for the good job that you all are doing in this local government. I am proud and always ready to associate with you.”

Commissioned block of classrooms

Education Secretary, Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Ikorodu LG, Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo, appreciated the educational infrastructure being provided by the administration of Hon. Gbadebo -Alogba.

“On behalf of our wonderful pupils, we want to say thank you and that with your impact on education, they are guaranteed a good and conducive environment to thrive and be whatever they want to be in future.

“What is happening today is not a surprise but it’s also one to me especially within the context of the economy and what is available to the council.”

He said that the council chairman made his job easy with her interventions by providing a perimetre fence at the Methodist Primary School, Oke -Eletu and blocks of classroom in the same school and others within three months.

“She is not just doing that here, but also across the other four schools in Ijede LCDA. It is so laudable. In the history of Ikorodu Division as far as education is concerned, you are in the lead,” he said.

Eletu Adeniyi Ajayi, the Eletu of Oke -Eletu, in his royal remarks said the council administrator is fulfilling her campaign promises.

He thanked her for uplifting the school in his domain and pledged the support of the entire Oke Eletu community for the administration of Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo -Alogba.

Mrs Alonge, Head Teacher, Methodist Primary School, Oke -Eletu said that education in Ijede LCDA is having a new direction and intervention from the council administration.

She commended the council chairman’s provision of new blocks and toilet facilities and also the perimetre fence which she said would go a long way in preventing security challenges that they usually face.

The school manager also acknowledged Hon. Gbadebo -Alogba’s Back -to-School initiative, an initiative through which the council makes provisions of school uniform, exercise books, pencils, sandals and socks available for pupils at every resumption of school term.

‎Like Oliver Twist, Mrs Alonge also pleaded with the council chairman for provisions of sports equipment, modern seats, TV, DVD among others.

At Anglican Primary School, Ijede, a fully furnished block of six classrooms with six toilet facilities was opened. At Abule-Eko Community Primary School, Ijede, another fully furnished block of six classrooms with six toilet facilities; Egbin Kingdom Primary School, Ijede, a fully furnished block of four classrooms with four toilet facilities; and at Anwar-UL-Islam Primary School, Ijede, a renovation and fully furnished block of six classrooms with six modern toilet facilities were provided and also commissioned.

Recall that the administration of Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo -Alogba had about two years ago established a new school at Igbe Agunro and constructed a block of classrooms, toilets and other facilities.
