The leadership of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has urged residents of Ikorodu commuting through tricycles known in the local parlance as ‘Marwa’ or ‘Keke NAPEP’ to be conscious of their security and take note of tag numbers allotted to them before boarding any at bus stops.

In an alert being spread on social media, the NURTW, warned residents against boarding any Keke without the union tag numbers written on them.

The message urged residents plying Marwa/Keke NAPEP’ along Garage/Benson – Sabo/Odogunyan/Ita Oluwo/Ogijo to be at alert because of the activities of kidnappers and robbers.

“N. U. R. T. W. IKORODU DIVISION is using this medium to inform/alert all our customers that are entering Marwa in Ikorodu Division thus: If Marwa/Keke NAPEP does not have a tag number written on it, please don’t enter it.

“Be at alert on these routes: GARAGE/BENSON – SABO/ODOGUNYAN/ITA OLUWO/OGIJO.

“This Is To Avoid Being Kidnapped/Robbed/Assaulted/Killed By Criminals Using Keke Marwa/ Tricycle OR Okada.”

The union charged residents to stay safe and informed others about its directive.
