The authority of Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), under the leadership of Omoba Hameed Aroyewun, Executive Chairman, has set its target in achieving a sustainable development in 2026, with its budget which is tagged, “Budget of Inclusive Prosperity”.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Oluwaseun Ajayi, said in a statement on the commencement of the 2026 Budget Retreat on Thursday.
At the session to brainstorm and strategise on the council’s fiscal guide for 2026, were members of the Council Legislative Arm, Executive and Management Officers of the council, as well as members of the National Union Of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Igbogbo Chapter, also playing significant roles.

To provide insights and ensure standards are adhered to, a team of financial experts gave a practical training to the council officers.
“This year’s retreat places strong emphasis on designing a holistic and equitable financial framework that guarantees every resident, regardless of status, background, or community, enjoys the dividends of governance and the benefits of IBLCDA’s developmental agenda.
“Residents are assured of a visionary and people-focused fiscal direction in 2026, as deliberations at the retreat are centered around critical pillars of growth, including: Strengthening community-driven development initiatives, Enhancing revenue generation through innovative and citizen-friendly mechanisms, Expanding social welfare and empowerment programmes, Prioritizing infrastructure, healthcare, education, and youth development projects and Deepening transparency, accountability, and responsible fiscal management”, the statement said.

Speaking at the opening session, Chairman Aroyewun reiterated that the 2026 budget is envisioned to reflect collective aspirations, promote shared prosperity, and consolidate ongoing efforts to build a more inclusive and economically vibrant IBLCDA.
“As deliberations continue, the administration remains committed to delivering a fiscal blueprint that ensures sustainable development and leaves no segment of the population behind”, the statement added.
