The former deputy governor in Lagos State, and a chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, has hinted that the list of political office holders that would be appointed as Supervisors, Special Advisers among other positions at the council level would be release soon.
He said that most of the 57 Local Government and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) across the state have submitted their lists except about six. Prince Ogunleye gave the hint at the commissioning of projects commemorating the 100 Days in office of Hon. Ameen Olawale Apanisile, Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA at the Odo – Nla Primary Health Centre (PHC) on Tuesday.

THE IMPACT gathered that the issue of the political appointees to form cabinets for the new council chairmen top the list of agenda at the meeting by the State Executive Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos State with some members of the GAC and council chairmen on Tuesday.
Some of the chieftains at the meeting were Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, a former Deputy Governor and former party chairman, Prince Olusi, GAC Chairman, Chief Henry Ajomale, former state party chairman, Hon. Tunde Balogun, former party chairman and Alhaji Mutiu Are, GAC secretary
“Although, you are yet to have a cabinet but the process is ongoing to constitute them,” the former Deputy Governor revealed.

“Virtually all the 57 councils in the state have submitted their list except about six because the state party chairman read out the names at the meeting that we went to at ACME. Some of these six councils at the meeting also let us know that they have submitted their list.
“Very soon, the party is going to sit down with the Governor and the council chairman to ratify the names for the supervisors and special advisers,” he added.
Recall that the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu at the inauguration of the 57 council chairmen at State House directed them to suspend the appointment of cabinet members until about six months after assuming office for them to be able to establish themselves very well.
