The Education Secretary, Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Ikorodu Local Government, Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo, has stated that the Executive Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has been nurturing the future generations through investments in building educational infrastructures within the council.
He pointed at the contributions and support that the council, under the administration of Omoba Aroyewun, has given to the LGEA in the successful commencement of Ilado Primary School, Ilado, Igbogbo, for the ongoing 2025/26 academic session, establishment of new primary school Zumratul Islamiyyah Primary School, Igbogbo and other educational interventions.
Alhaji Odumbo spoke at the commissioning of a renovated and upgraded block of six classrooms, and a block of six toilets constructed by the administration of Omoba Aroyewun, at the Methodist Primary School, Igbogbo, on Thursday.

“What we are witnessing today is just beyond the construction of bricks and mortals. What we are seeing is nurturing future generations. We are building investment so that all our future generations will have hope, and that is exactly what we’re experiencing today.
“Since I came into office, I realized that we have 14 primary schools in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, and I can say authoritatively that it is only one school that I have not touched, which is the school at Offin. Going to these schools helped me to know their challenges.
“Immediately that I resumed, I came to Hon. Aroyewun, and at that time, there was a particular school at llado, which Hon. Babajimi Benson facilitated its construction, and I thought of it that the school must take off immediately. If we had failed to achieve its take off at the beginning of the 2025/26 session, it means we have to wait till another academic session next year.

“I came to see Honorable Aroyewun, and sincerely to you, there’s a particular school in Ilado that they just built. Honorable Babajimi Benson built that structure, and I thought of it that the school must take off immediately, because if it doesn’t take off at that moment, it would have to wait till another academic session.
“I met Hon. Aroyewun and I told him what we needed for the school to take -off, and within minutes, he approved all the logistics involved for that school to commence. History will be very kind to you”.
The Education Secretary also said that teachers that have been employed in that school would get their letters this week.
He also acknowledged efforts of the chairman in establishing another primary school in Igbogbo, describing it as a worthwhile initiative.

“Secondly, I received a letter from Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LSUBEB) that Zumratul Islamiyyah Primary School is about to start operating. That letter is on my table and by His grace, you will see our works and by his grace too, that place will also take -off, and that’s because we have a chairman that is very proactive and is ready to make a lot of things better.
“What we are experiencing today is something worthwhile, and I really appreciate and thank you”.
He also thanked Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun and Asiwaju Kaoli Olusanya and other leaders, for their inputs in getting teaching employment slots for Ikorodu.
