The new Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Education District II, Mr. Omotayo Layemo Sanni, continued his familiarisation and inspection visits with a tour of Zumratul Islamiyya Junior and Senior Grammar Schools, as well as Shams-El-Deen Junior and Senior Grammar Schools.
During the visit, Mr. Sanni engaged with the teaching and non-teaching staff of both schools, commending their dedication to duty while addressing key areas for improvement. He emphasised the importance of maintaining high standards of discipline, punctuality, and professionalism in the discharge of duties.
“As educators and public servants, we must lead by example. Discipline, punctuality, and integrity are non-negotiable values that define our service. I urge every member of staff to desist from all forms of illegality or unwholesome behaviour that could undermine our collective progress,” he stated.

He further charged staff to pay attention to their appearance and overall comportment, noting that teachers are role models whose conduct directly influences students’ attitudes toward learning and moral values.
“Our students look up to us. The way we dress, speak, and behave sends a message. Let that message always be one of responsibility, excellence, and pride in the teaching profession,” he added.
The visit also provided an avenue for Mr. Omotayo Layemo Sanni to assess the learning environment, inspect facilities, and interact with school management on strategies to improve academic performance and staff productivity.

The TG/PS reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that Education District II remains a model of excellence in Lagos State, driven by effective supervision, collaboration, and continuous professional growth.
“Together, we can build schools that truly reflect the vision of the Lagos State Government for a world-class education system,” he concluded.
