The battle for this year’s Adeboruwa cup resumed at the United African Methodist (Eleja) Primary School, Igbogbo, on Saturday, where Team Adegbose and Ifeoluwa defeated their opposing teams – Team Lajo and Olu – Odo FC, to move to the next stage of the tournament.
In an electrifying encounter, Team Adegbose and Team Lajo treated spectators to a tense and entertaining match that ended in a 1–1 draw after full time. Both sides displayed impressive skills and determination throughout the game.
Team Lajo took an early lead in the first half through a well-taken goal, but Team Adegbose fought back strongly, finding the equalizer before the end of the second half to keep their hopes alive.
With no winners after regulation time, the match proceeded to penalty shootouts, and Team Adegbose held their nerves to emerge victorious, winning 4–2 on penalties.
