The federal lawmaker said in a statement marking the WFD celebration.

“Today, as the world commemorates World Food Day 2025, I join millions across the globe to reaffirm our shared commitment to ending hunger, strengthening food production, and ensuring a better, healthier future for all.

“The theme for this year, “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future”, reminds us that food security goes beyond production, it includes compassion, collaboration, and collective responsibility.

“In Lagos East Senatorial District, we have continued to demonstrate this spirit of partnership and shared humanity. Through our #DoingGood Food Packs Programme, we have reached out to over 72,000 households across the sixteen (16) Local Government and Local Council Development Areas of the district, bringing food relief to vulnerable families, particularly widows, women, unemployed youths, the elderly, and persons living with disabilities.

“Beyond immediate food support, our focus has also been on boosting agricultural productivity and empowering farmers, who remain the backbone of food security.

“We have empowered over 8,000 farmers with fertilizers, farm inputs, modern agricultural equipment, and poultry cages, enabling local farmers to enhance yields, increase income, and contribute meaningfully to our collective food sufficiency.”

He called for collective action towards food security while wishing his constituents happy WFD:

“Together, hand in hand, we can build a future where no child sleeps hungry, where every household has access to nutritious meals, and food security.

“Happy World Food Day 2025!”
