The youth of Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA), under the aegis of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), came up with the idea of the dialogue in May this year and submitted the report to the LCDA Chairman at the council secretariat on Tuesday.
Recall that Chairman Benson, attended the dialogue themed, “From Dialogue to Action: Shaping the Future of Imota LCDA Together”, as a chairmanship aspirant with four others out of the eight that aspire to the Imota LCDA chairmanship on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The parley with stakeholders at ADMOS Hotel, discussed issues, challenges and way forward.

Hon. Benson while speaking after receiving the report from the NYCN led by Comrade Oriyomi Adebogun, as its Coordinator, commended the youth and pledged to constitute a committee to look into their recommendations for the purpose of issuing a White Paper for its implementation.
“I received the report of the Imota LCDA Community Development Dialogue yesterday, and I expressed my profound gratitude to the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Imota LCDA Local Branch for their service in coming up with a 10-year Developmental Framework.
“To ensure we get to work on implementation, I assured the youth council that a committee would be set up immediately. This committee will bring forward a White Paper within the next couple of weeks, which will be reviewed by my administration.

“Following this review, the report and recommendations will be properly implemented. We remain committed to supporting and working towards the actualisation of a greater Imota LCDA,” Hon. Benson said.
At the dialogue in May, critical stakeholders from different sectors – education, security, market, health, community development and other areas of the community made presentations on the state of the council, challenges and way forward.
