Economic summit and launch of IYF Education Fund

The Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) is set for another youth engagement initiative. This time around, the attempt is to empower the youth economically and make them productive for the advancement of the council. This is to be achieved by assisting them in unlocking their potentials at an economic summit.

The summit which is aimed at bringing about 500 youths together, is being organised by the Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA authorities in collaboration with the Igbogbo Youth Forum (IYF).

It is slated to hold at the Megalite Hall, Igbogbo on October 26th, 2025.

At the summit which is themed, “How To Unlock And Harness Your Potential As A Youth For A Sustainable Future”, the IYF Education Fund which is part of the efforts of the umbrella body of youths in Igbogbo Kingdom to support youth’s education will be launched.

According to a statement signed by the Chairman, IYF Summit Planning Committee, Ln. Taofeek Olawale Ipaye and the Secretary, Oludamilola Edward, the summit will address critical challenges that are facing the youths.

“Nigeria’s youth demographic presents an immense opportunity, yet many faces significant challenges including unemployment and limited access to resources.

“The Youth Economic Summit aims to address these critical issues by bringing together over five hundred [500] aspiring young entrepreneurs, innovators, and future leaders from across the nooks and crannies of Igbogbo/Baiyeku, with the objective to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and networks necessary to thrive in today’s dynamic economic landscape whilst driving innovation, and ultimately contribute to Igbogbo/Baiyeku, Lagos State, and national economic growth,” it stated.

According to the planning committee, the summit will feature a robust agenda including keynote speech by our renowned youth expert, interactive workshops on business development, digital marketing, government policy, and financial management and panel discussions on emerging economic trends and opportunities in Nigeria with major focus on entrepreneurship, finance, and technology.

Other features outlined for the summit are pitch session to identify and support promising youth-led business ventures and networking opportunities with potential investors and employers.

Resource persons listed for the youth economic summit are Dr Tunde Ajayi [General Manager Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency [LASEPA], chief guest speaker, and Mayor Deen Sawoola(Executive Assistant, Lagos State Parking Authority) as the guest speaker.

Panelists include Alhaji Sulaimon Ayokunle, CEO Sula Marine, Mr Timothy Aluko, Program Management Professional, Mrs Ayomikun Titiloye, FCA, Financial Expert, Hon. Ajao Afeez Onaolapo and Ganiyu Abiona Ibikunle (Ph.D.). The session will be moderated by Mr Idris Adeshina.
