General Hospital Ikorodu Emerges Best In Fight Against Sexual, Gender

The General Hospital Ikorodu has been honoured as the Best General Hospital by the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency for its fight against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) in Lagos State.

Management of the General Hospital announced the feat achieved by the medical facility on its social media handles today.

The hospital under the leadership of Dr. Taiwo Hassan, the Medica Director /Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO), received the award at the Governor’s Awards & Commendation Night 2025, at the Whitestone Event Centre, Billings Way, Oregun Ikeja.

The event was an evening dedicated to honouring the remarkable individuals, institutions, and organizations working tirelessly to prevent and respond to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) in Lagos. The event brought together government officials, policy makers, frontline responders, traditional rulers, community advocates and other stakeholders united in advancing the collective fight against SGBV.

General Hospital Ikorodu announced the new feat on its social media handles on Friday.

His Royal Majesties, Oba Semiudeen Kasali, the Adeborua of Igbogbo, Oba Akeem Oyebo, the Obateru of Egbin and others with Dr. Taiwo Hassan and officials of the General Hospital Ikorodu at the award ceremony.

At the awards night, the Lagos State Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Lawal Pedro SAN, was a Special Guest His Royal Majesties, Oba Semiudeen Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo and Oba Akeem Oyebo, the Obateru of Egbin Kingdom.

The event also had in attendance the representative of the Governor of Lagos State and Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, Solicitor General/Permanent Secretary MOJ, Mrs. Titilayo Shitta-Bey-Jeje, Executive Secretary Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi; Directors and members of staff of the Lagos State Ministry of Justice and other Notable Dignitaries.
