As another edition of annual Ipakodo Day commences in a few days, the Council Leader, Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Councillor Jessica Oba has felicitated His Royal Majesty, Oba Basiru Aremu Sotonwa, the Sekumade of Ipakodo.
This year’s edition of the socio – cultural and economic festival holds between September 27th and October 4th.
In a statement, Councillor Oba said that residents of Ipakodo community will use the opportunity to come together, and find ways of developing the community. She enjoined residents of Ipakodo both male and female, friends and well – wishers to join the royal father and the entire community in the celebration.
“Ipakodo and its environs will be agog from September 27th – October 4th as the sons and daughters of the kingdom join our revered Kabiyesi to celebrate another edition of Ipakodo Day. This is a celebration that brings us together. A moment that helps us initiate conversations that are growth and development oriented.
“The celebration will feature Woro carnival, Health Talk, Royal blessings, Youth Day and the one hosted by me – Ipakodo Street Cinema all in commemoration of the celebration.
“This is a special invitation to all and sundry to join us in celebrating our rich cultural heritage and you will love it.
“May your reign continue to be pleasant for all of us Kabiyesi – Aseyi Samodun. Ase,” she said.
