Again, Igbogbo All -Stars Show Class As Unity Championship Enters Week 2

The Igbogbo All Stars team, at the weekend, proved their dominance as they recorded an emphatic 7 – 1 victory against Nwandi Namba All Stars of Mowo at the Imota centre of the All-Stars Unity Championship ongoing across four centres in Ikorodu Constituency II.

The tournament, which is the second edition, was initiated and sponsored by the representative of the Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. (Dr.) Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA).

In a statement by the Media Director and Personal Assistant to Hon (Dr.) Aro Moshood Abiodun, Razaq Kabiru Babatunde, he described football actions across the centres as “nothing short of epochal in the footballing history of Ikorodu Constituency II”.

“The atmosphere across the four centres was electric, filled with passion, rivalry, and spirit of unity that this competition embodies. The echoes of the whistle, the roars of the crowd, and the resilience of the players, painted a day of football that will be remembered for a long time”.

GROUP A – Ijede Centre
The day began with sparks at the Ijede Centre where Ijede All Stars proved their dominance against Gberigbe All Star, securing a commanding 2–0 victory. The match showcased tactical brilliance and solid defensive work by the Ijede team, sending a clear message that they are contenders to watch.

In the second clash, Igbe All Stars came from behind with power and the spirit of never-say-die, to defeat Explorer All Star with a strong 3–1 win. Their attacking prowess was simply unstoppable, leaving the fans chanting with pride and anticipation.

GROUP B – Imota Centre
The Imota Centre witnessed fireworks and one of the most talked-about scorelines of the week. Igbogbo All Stars delivered a ruthless performance, dismantling Nwandi Namba All Stars, Mowo, with an emphatic 7–1 victory. It was a football masterclass, a statement of intent, and a moment that will echo across the constituency.

The second encounter was much tighter, however, Igbalu All Stars edged out Be Happy All Stars with a slim but decisive 1–0 win. A single strike made all the difference, proving that in football, focus and precision always matter.

GROUP C – Igbogbo Centre
Drama unfolded at the Igbogbo Centre, starting with a tense battle between Offin Ile All Stars and Tira All Stars, that ended in a goalless stalemate. Both sides fought gallantly but could not break the deadlock, leaving the group wide open.

The second match brought excitement as Makbet All Stars outclassed Abule Eko All Stars with a comfortable 3–0 victory. Their display of teamwork and finishing brilliance stamped their authority as strong contenders.

GROUP D – Elepe Centre
At the Elepe Centre, fans were treated to thrilling, hard-fought encounters. Tripple O All Stars edged past Alabiamo All Stars in a nail-biting 1–0 clash, proving, once again, that determination and grit can swing the pendulum.

Closing the day was a heated battle where Nwandi Namba All Stars Igbogbo, narrowly defeated Otugbuwa All Stars by 1–0, in a game where discipline and strategy carried the day.

The lawmaker’s aide, summing up the players’ display, said that the tournament is all about pride and unity of the constituency

“As Week Two wrapped up, one thing was clear: the All Stars Unity Championship 2025, is not just about football, it is about pride, passion, and unity in Ikorodu Constituency II. From shocking victories to narrow escapes, every center echoed the determination of young men carrying the dreams of their communities.

“The journey is still long, but with this kind of fire, excitement, and support, the championship promises to be a festival of football, brotherhood, and hope”.
