-As Profs Aworawo, Sanni lead discuss

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwo – Olu will lead the array of dignitaries listed to attend the 2025 edition of King Kosoko Memorial Lecture on Sunday, September 21, 2025, as the Chief Host.
Also attending the lecture series which serves as an enduring legacy of King Kosoko, an important figure in Lagos history are the Deputy Governor of Lagos, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, as host, Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa and Barr. Abimbola Salu – Hundeyin, Secretary to the Lagos State Government.

Prof. David Aworawo of the Department of History and Strategic Studies, University of Lagos, Prof. Habeed Abiodun Sanni, a leading scholar on Lagos History in the Department of History and International Studies, Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos and member, Isale Eko Descendants Forum, Mrs Aduke Gomez and Mrs Folashade Sosanya are the leading speakers on the lecture themed, “The Lagos Kingship: Its Territory, Culture. Traditions and Its Districts Before 1862”.
The lecture which holds at The Glover Memorial Hall, Customs Street, Lagos Island, Lagos, starts at 12pm.
Others are Mrs Toke Benson Awoyinka, Honourable Commissioner for Tourism, Arts & Culture, Lagos State, Mr Idris Aregbe, Special Adviser on Tourism, Arts & Culture, Hon. Bonu Solomon, Chairman, Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Tourism, Arts & Culture, Mr Lanre Bajulaye, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism and Hon. (Prince) Taiwo Oyekan, Chairman, Lagos Island.

Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Osuolale Akiolu, HRM Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, Alara of Ilara Kingdom and HRM Oba Oladele Friday Kosoko, Oniworo of Iworo Awori Kingdom are some of the royal fathers expected at the event, while Mothers of the Day are Erelu Abiola Dosunmu, the Erelu Kuyi of Lagos and Alhaja (Chief) Mutiat Ashabi Abimbola Alli – Balogun, Head of Kosoko Royal Family.
Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi, a Prince of Lagos and Chairman, Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Mr Oluyemi Oga and Dr Tunde Elegbede, are some of the discussants.
