The Supervising Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District II, Mr. Olusegun Osinaike and Directors from the School’s Administration Department embarked on a monitoring exercise across schools in the District to ensure a smooth resumption for the 2025/2026 academic session.

During the visit, Mr. Osinaike urged both teachers and students to commit themselves to hard work, discipline, and dedication, emphasising that the ultimate goal of education is to achieve excellent results in key examinations such as BECE, WAEC, and NECO.

He noted that sustained effort, coupled with effective teaching and learning practices, would enable schools within the district to surpass previous records and achieve even greater academic milestones.

In addition, the Supervising TG/PS reiterated the Lagos State Government’s zero tolerance for Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). He called on schools to not only serve as centres of learning but also as safe spaces where students are nurtured to become responsible citizens.

Mr. Osinaike further stressed that eradicating SGBV in schools and, by extension, the broader community is essential for creating an enabling environment where every child can thrive, as outlined in the THEMES Plus Agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Describing the full attendance in all the schools as a sign of readiness to achieve greatness by the students, he assured that Education District II remains committed to academic excellence, discipline, and moral values, while working collaboratively with stakeholders to raise a generation of students who are academically sound, socially responsible, and globally competitive.

Schools visited included Ikosi Senior and Junior High Schools, Ayedere Ajibola Junior and Senior Schools, and Lajo Community Junior and Senior Secondary Schools, Eva Adelaja Junior and Senior Girls’ Grammar Schools, Keme Balogun Senior College and Kosofe Senior and Junior College, among others.
