A concerned resident, Mr Dayo Osore has made a special appeal to the representative of Ikorodu Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson over the completion of the Igbogbo/Bola Tinubu/Igbe Laara Road, which has been on for eight years.
Residents of Ikorodu, especially those of Igbogbo and in particular, Igbe Laara axis, have been complaining about the state of the road construction despite the announcement that the Lagos State Government has paid HiTech Construction Company for the completion of the project after the intervention of Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), the representative of Ikorodu Constituency II, after years of abandonment.
They have been concerned about the snail speed of the construction works since resumption a few months ago, with the major area of concern being the Afa/Igbe Laara and also the Igbe Laara/Gintin Road that links Itamaga/Gberigbe/Ijede Road.

Mr Osore made the appeal to the Ikorodu Federal lawmaker early Sunday, in a piece on The Peoples Forum (TPF) and Frank Forum titled, “Special Appeal to Hon. Babajimi Benson, MHR representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency @Rep JB which has been generating discussions.
“Dear Sir, I am moved to passionately appeal to you about the state of Afa section of Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Ginti Road in particular, and the entire stretch of this important road in general. Seeing this clip from my estate’s group today moved me to tears and I want to appeal to you to help in alleviating the suffering of those residents in this axis by fixing the Road.
It would be hard to convince anyone living in this axis that you are really doing great, if they still wake up to this everyday…

In your magnanimity, sir, I want to beg you to help consider this ROAD for full construction, among those numerous projects you have for the people of Ikorodu. And if it is not within the scope of the type of projects you bring to Ikorodu Division, please help us to speak to LASG to urgently do something about it, sir.. A responsible government will not allow her citizens to continually face this nightmare.”
While appealing to the lawmaker, Osore also thanked him for his intervention so far especially on road infrastructures across Ikorodu Division. He also charged residents on the need to continue to speak out over the road project.
“Finally, I appreciate you for your interventions on all Ikorodu roads, even though it has not gotten to this axis, as well as all you do to alleviate the suffering of IKORODU residents as a whole…

“People just need to speak out, namesake mi..Posterity sometimes may stand at a corner, watching the reactions of the concerned people…..It’s a very bad situation there…,” he charged.
Many of the residents that responded on the platforms to the appeal by Osore also queried the pace of HiTech’s work and called on the government to make the construction company intensify its work and also pay attention to the Afa Bridge which has been abandoned and is causing residents of Igbe communities and other road users’ untold hardship.
