The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Omoo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), has commiserated the royal families and residents of Elepe Kingdom and the Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA in general over the passage of late His Royal Majesty, Oba AbdulGaniu Adekoyejo Omotayo, the Fidimolu of Elepe, who joined his ancestors last Friday.
The late Kabiyesi was the first monarch in Elepe Kingdom. He was 85 years old.
In a statement commiserating the royal families and residents, Aroyewun said that the late Oba led his people with compassion as Baale for almost 50 years before he ascended the throne as a monarch.

“On behalf of the good people of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area, I commiserate with the Royal Family of Ẹlẹ́pẹ Kingdom, the entire people of Elepe Kingdom, and the whole of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, on the passing of His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulganiu Adekoyejo Omotayo (Fidimolu of Elepe), who passed away on Friday, 29th of August, 2025.
“HRM Omotayo’s life was one of uncommon devotion to his people. Having led compassionately as the Baale of Elepe for over four decades, his enthronement as the substantive King of Elepe Kingdom a year ago was a divine crown to his many years of community development service, quality representation, and selfless leadership”.
He commended the late Oba’s preservation of culture and traditions of his people and his advancement of peace and unity among his people during his lifetime.

“The late Kabiyesi meritoriously discharged his roles as a custodian of our culture and traditions. We were blessed to have the late Kabiyesi as a community leader repute as he consistently worked for peace, progress, and development within Elepe Kingdom and across our LCDA.
“We take solace in the fact that he lived a fulfilled life of impact, attaining the blessed age of 85 years with grace, elegance and nobility.
“As we mourn, we also celebrate the life of a monarch who gave his best to the service of humanity. I pray that Almighty God grants us the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.
“Adieu to our great King, HRM Oba Abdul-Ganiu Omotayo”.
