The immediate past Chairman, Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. (Dr.) Adeola Banjo, continued his thank you visit to notable leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and other critical stakeholders that supported him during his 10 years stint at the helm of the council administration.
After visiting some of the notable political leaders and traditional leaders in Ikorodu, Hon. Banjo on Monday paid a thank you visit to state secretariat of the APC, where he also acknowledged the support of the state party chairman of his party, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi and the State APC scribe, Hon. (Dr.) Adeola Jokomba, who happens to be his immediate predecessor at Ikorodu North LCDA.

On the same day that he visited the two senior party officials of his party, Hon. Banjo also met with the Ikorodu Divisional chairman of the APC and a former chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani, to also thank him for his support throughout his chairmanship of the council.
Presenting the frames to the party’s managers at the state levels, Hon. Banjo acknowledged their impacts and how they have repositioned the party and made it credible:
“Today is not only a moment of presentation; it is a moment of gratitude, of honour, and of truth.

“Chairman, thank you for giving fresh breath to the dream we inherited. You have not only chaired our party; you have carried its spirit. You reached backward with honour, you pressed forward with purpose, and in your steps we have seen the dream of our founding fathers preserved, strengthened, and made new.
“Where others merely kept the flame, you gave it direction. Where others recited the creed, you made it credible again. You did not seek power for applause, but for transformation — especially for those at the grassroots, the builders of everyday Nigeria. Because of your labour, we stand taller. Because of your example, we walk straighter,” Hon. Banjo said.
He commended them for the leadership that they have provided and how they have also expanded the reach of the party.

“Chairman, you have been more than a leader; you have been a guide, a guardian, a compass. You taught us that leadership is not how far a man stands above his people, but how closely he walks beside them. You have made our party more visible, more respected, more rewarded — even in those corners where service was once forgotten.
“And so today, this frame is not offered as a gift, but as a covenant. Every word inscribed on it is a testimony. It declares that your labour has not been in vain, that your wisdom has not fallen to the ground, and that the seeds you have sown in us will yield a harvest for generations to come.”
While stating that he is still willing to serve his party and community, the former chairman, added that he will continue to work and support the leaders of the party.

“Though I have bowed out from office, I have not stepped away from service. Let it be said that though I laid down a position, I did not lay aside my purpose. I remain — standing, serving, working, and walking with a company of like minds whose resolve is unshaken: that the best of us shall define the rest of us. I remain here, marching beside our leaders, cheering them on, and lending my voice to the dream we all share — a dream now carried forward through the Edge Rate Campaign and Celebrations.
“On behalf of all of us, I say thank you. Thank you for your quiet strength. Thank you for your steady will. Thank you for your loyalty to a cause greater than us all.
“And may the vision you protect continue to flourish. May the party you build never falter. And may history remember that when the legacy needed a guardian, you stood,” he said.

During the visit to the APC party state secretariat, Banjo also met with the Vice Chairmen, Lagos East, Central and West Senatorial Districts of the party.
The former chairman was accompanied by Mrs. Lydia Agoro, former Supervisor for Education in his first term; the immediate past SLG of Ikorodu North LCDA, Prince Niyi Odugbesi; the immediate past two-term Leader of the Legislative House, Hon. Ayo Adekoya; the immediate past councillor representing Ward E2, Hon. Olakanmi Sheriff Tijani; the immediate past Supervisor for Works – Hon. Ambali Adeleke; the immediate past Supervisor for Women Affairs & Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Basirat Babatunde-Adewunmi; the former Deputy Executive Secretary and Woman Leader of Ikorodu North LCDA; all the five Women Leaders in Ikorodu North LCDA; Mr. Babatunde Amakaiye Olowu; Mr. Michael Newman, and others.
