APO ANU: iCare Foundation Continues To Support Ikorodu Constituents With Foods

Since 2016, Rep. Babajimi Benson, the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency through his operational team, iCare has continued to touched lives of thousands of constituents by providing them with monthly food items, a gesture which also extended to festive seasons.

The distribution of the food items tagged ‘Apo Anu’, every month and during festive seasons is usually distributed to at least 500 beneficiaries who are senior citizens, persons with disability, unemployed youth and those in need among others.

Beneficiaries gathered at the Rep. Babajimi Benson’s Constituency Office at the weekend to get the August 2025 ration of the food items.

The programme which has been modified over the time and remained one of the most consistent food bank initiatives, cut across the Ikorodu Local Government and five Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) under it – Ikorodu West, Ikorodu North, Ijede, Imota, and Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDAs.

Comrade Lekan Biliamin Oba, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Lagos State, who was part of the distribution, commended the three – term lawmaker for sustaining the initiative which has been providing foods for many families in Ikorodu Constituency.

“Earlier today, I joined the iCare Foundation in the distribution of the Monthly iCare Food Pack ‘Apo Anu’ at the constituency office. The Food bank project since 2015 has consistently fed over 1000 constituents every month interrupted.

“Rep Babajimi Benson is not just a lawmaker with legislative achievements – he is also one of the foremost legislators in recent times with great connection with the people.

“This is what leaders with good heart do – no one should go to sleep with empty stomach.

“Ikorodu Federal Constituency is thankful.”

Beneficiaries of the gesture that spoke with THE IMPACT, also thanked Rep. Benson.

Mr Obafemi Apanishile, who was receiving the ration for the first time described the lawmaker as a caring for leader.

“This is my first time of coming to iCare food distribution, sponsored by Honourable Jimi Benson. This is my first time and I thank him. He’s one in a million; he really cares, and it shows he cares about the people of his constituency.”

Another beneficiary, Mrs Adeshina, who said that she came to assist someone else get the bag of food items also commended the gesture which she said has been of immense assistance to so many families and prayed that the initiator will continue to receive God’s favour.

Mrs Salome, also speaking, said: “I feel happy about it. God will bless the organisers, reward and uphold them. They will live long in Jesus name.” Amen.

At the Apo Anu distribution were the Vice Chairmen, Igbogbo/Bayeku, Barr. Ade Ayeni, Vice Chairman, Imota LCDA, Hon. Princess Abisoye Oredoyin – Jimoh, and Executive Secretary, Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Ikorodu LG, Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo, among others.
