-Promotes 5 academy players to first team

In preparation for actions in the Nigerian elite football league, Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) 2025/26 Season, Ikorodu City FC has been strengthening its team with the injection of new players.
The team which is also known as the Oga Boys, which will be playing in the topflight league after gaining promotion from the NNL after a playoff last season, has also promoted five of its academy players to the first team.
Top on its catch is the Liberian national team goalie, Derrick July, who signed for the club from Liberian First Division champions, Watanga FC.

He signed a two -year deal with the Oga Boys.
The club has also delightfully announced the signage of Rasheed Owolabi on a two-year deal. The midfielder joins us from Inter Lagos.
Another player announced by the club is Taiwo Alao, who joined us from Sporting Lagos, while, striker Uchechukwu Onyemaechi joined on a multi-year deal from BJ FC. Uchechukwu played for Ijebu United last season.

The club which has unveiled his home and away kits, will be playing its first match in the top flight away on Sunday, August 24th against Kwara United at the Kwara State Sports Complex.
Meanwhile, five academy graduates have been promoted to the first team fully ahead of the new football season. The promoted players included two forward players, Malik Musa and Samuel Ezekiel, a midfielder, Dagogo Ibifubara, right back , Gift Udoh and Chiemerie Ezeaka, a central back player.
