-Ladega, Apanisile, Imam Oshoala commend lawmaker

Following the request of the Executive Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Adedayo Ladega, the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep Babajimi Benson is set to embark on the reconstruction of dilapidated Kokoro – Abu Road in Ikorodu.
The proposed reconstruction of the 1.7KM Kokoro Abu (with Ogunwomoju Street to link the Shamsideen Road facilitated by the same lawmaker some years back), starts from the junction of Kokoro Abu/Adeniran Ogunsanya Road (formerly Onisigida Road) to Grammar School junction.
Rep. Benson, who toured the road with Sheik Fadhilat Yahya Oshoala, Chief Imam, Oriwu Central Mosque, Prince Adedayo Ladega, Chairman, Ikorodu LG, Hon. Ameen Olawale Apanisile, Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA and Hon. Babatunde Shotomiwa, Council Leader, Ikorodu Legislative Arm, community leaders and others, made the pledge during the tour on Friday.

The three – term lawmaker, said that Prince Ladega contacted him to consider the Ikorodu Central LG first for federal projects which necessitated his decision to facilitate the rehabilitation of the road.
He emphasised that Prince Ladega had to visit him at home to reinforce his request for the federal project.
While assuring that the project would commence in the next few weeks, Rep. Benson pleaded for support for the contractor and construction workers when the road project commenced.
“We are here to fulfil our promise to the electorate. Hopefully, we should move to site within a month and we hope to complete the project in five months.”

The Ikorodu Federal representative stated that the Ita -Oluwo -Agbede Road in Ikorodu North LCDA has also been slated for construction.
In his reaction, Prince Ladega thanked the federal lawmaker for the gesture, while also appreciating him for his quality representation.
“I am really happy about it and I so happy that our people are happy as well. I spoke with him about it because I campaigned here and promised the people that we are going to fix this road and I thank my representative and the ‘Julius Berger’ of Lagos because we can feel his impacts in every local government.

“We are happy that he’s here and he has promised us that the contractor would move to site soon,” he said.
The new council boss, who assured Ikorodu residents of more federal presence, also added that his administration is determined to improve Ikorodu infrastructurally, economically and in other aspects as promised in his campaign agenda.
The Ikorodu North LCDA Chairman, Hon. Ameen Ibrahim Apanisile, also speaking thanked the federal lawmaker over projects in his domain and emphasised that the people of his council are expecting more from him.
“Rep. Benson has been doing a good job in my locality. Presently, he has just completed the Adamo – Mojoda Road and we are expecting more from him.

“He has also promised us to do the Agbede Road and Alaka Road, now Ogunleye Drive. We are good to go. Our constituents and people love him and we are expecting more from him.”
Sheikh Oshoala, thanking the lawmaker for all that he has been doing for Ikorodu Federal Constituency, called him ‘talk and do’ representative.
The Islamic leader recalled how Rep. Benson, before election into political office, intervened and fixed the Itunmoja bridge when it collapsed.

Sheikh Oshoala added that every part of Ikorodu Federal Constituency is feeling the impact of his representation, and commended him for the Shamsideen Road that the lawmaker facilitated some years back.
On behalf of the entire Itunmoja community, Sheikh Oshoala expressed their appreciation and support for the lawmaker.
He also thanked the Chairman, Ikorodu LG, for his role in the proposed reconstruction of Kokoro – Abu Road.
Imam Oshoala also thanked President Bola Tinubu for the support that he has been giving to Rep. Benson. He pledged the support of the entire Ikorodu towards the re – election of the President in 2027.

As the leader of the community, Sheikh Oshoala assured the Ikorodu Federal lawmaker of maximum support for the contractor when the construction starts.
