Comrade Olalekan Biliamin Oba, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on Social Development has charged Nigerian youths on the need to do more for the country.
Oba, who is the immediate past Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State Chapter, gave the charge in a statement commemorating the 2025 International Youth Day.

The agile and resourceful youth leader urged fellow young people to be intentional and deliberate about their contributions while assuring them of government support.
“It’s another 12th of August, a day to remind us as young Leaders of our duty to strive and continue to do more for our dear country as we celebrate the International Youth Day.

The theme for this year “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond”, is a recognition of the role of Local Youth in the implementation of SDGs and beyond.
To drive the transformational projections that will further strengthen our society requires all hands on deck.

It’s time to see the need to be intentional and deliberate about our contributions as young people. The government on the other hand will continue to provide the enabling environment which is the reason for all the youth oriented and Social Development initiatives of Governor Babajide Sanwoolu through the Ministry of Youth and Social Development and other relevant agencies, ministries and parastatals,” Comrade Oba said.
He further emphasised that the youth must be conscious of the greatness of Nigeria while striving for personal development.

“As we strive for self growth, don’t forget your country needs you because your energy and ideas are needed to drive the country.
I celebrate every Youth out there.
Keep winning.”
