-Gives 150 residents free eye screening, glasses

His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Adegorushen V, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, has charged residents of Ikorodu on the need to care for their eyes by doing regular screening.
Ayangbure gave the charge during a free eye screening and glasses organized by the Brook Heritage Foundation in conjunction with the Oba Kabir Shotobi Anniversary Planning Committee on Friday.
150 residents benefitted from the outreach which was part of the just concluded week -long activities organized for the celebration of the just concluded 10th coronation anniversary of the Ayangbure of Ikorodu.

About 80 beneficiaries were given glasses and eye medication while others got medications alone. Those with critical conditions were promised further screening and referred for proper treatment.
The royal father who also partook in the screening thanked the organisers for the initiative and charged residents of Ikorodu on the need to do regular eye screening to ascertain the conditions of the eyes.
The Ikorodu monarch pledged to sustain the medical outreach and other initiatives by the palace for the benefits of the people.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Racheal Olatunji who spoke with THE IMPACT expressed her gratefulness to the monarch.

“I was tested, given drugs and glasses.
We thank Kabiyesi a lot. We’re really grateful because if we had gone to the public hospital, they won’t answer us in time and would have asked us to come back, but that is not the case here. We thank Kabiyesi. He will live long on the throne. Thank you,” she said.
Inspector Bukola Ogunlusi, a police officer with the Shagamu Road Division, also commended the monarch and the foundation.
“The awareness is very good. I’ve done my test, Kabiyesi too has done his own and encouraged us to take care of our sight and we should take cognizance of it. God bless the foundation. Amen!”
