The first decade of the Alaiyeluwa, His Royal Majesty (Oba) Dr (Engr.) Kabir Adewale Sotobi, Adegorushen V, The Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom, on the throne of his ancestors has been described as a period of unity, peace and a season when Ikorodu experienced socio – economic development.
The cathedral council of The African Church Bethel Cathedral (ACBC), Ikorodu, gave the description in a congratulatory statement felicitating Alaiyeluwa, Oba Shotobi’s 10th coronation anniversary and signed by Prince Adesoji A. Alagbe, Cathedral Secretary, Engr. Sunday Adesanya Oshin, Cathedral Warden and The Ven. G. M. Babatunde, Cathedral Provost.

The week – long celebration ended on Sunday, with a Special Church thanksgiving service at the Patriarch Bolaji Methodist Cathedral Church, Ikorodu and Inter – denomination service at the Ayangbure Palace, Ikorodu.
“On behalf of the clergy, leadership, and the entire congregation of The African Church Bethel Cathedral, Ikorodu, we extend our warmest felicitations and profound gratitude to God Almighty on the occasion of the 10th Anniversary of your coronation as the Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom.

“As our revered Grand Patron, we are immensely proud to be associated with your visionary and impactful reign. Over the past decade, Your Royal Majesty has distinguished yourself as a beacon of peace, unity, and progress, championing the cultural renaissance and socio-economic advancement of Ikorodu Kingdom.
“Your unwavering support for religious institutions, including our Cathedral, has been a great source of encouragement and inspiration. Your commitment to preserving our values, upholding justice, and promoting communal harmony has not gone unnoticed. Indeed, Ikorodu has continued to thrive under your wise and fatherly leadership.”

While celebrating the legacy of Ayangbure, the Church also prayed for a long reign and more impacts for Oba Shotobi.
“As you mark this historic milestone, we celebrate your enduring legacy and pray that the Almighty GOD will continue to preserve and strengthen you. May your reign be blessed with even greater wisdom, divine health, and lasting impact.
“Once again, congratulations, Kabiyesi, our Grand Patron. We are honoured to celebrate with you and pray for many more fruitful years on the throne of your forefathers,” the statement said.
