Sanwo – Olu Congratulates Oba Shotobi On 10th Coronation Anniversary

His Royal Majesty, (Oba) Dr. Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Adegorushen V, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwo – Olu, has extended his congratulations to the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, His Royal Majesty (Oba) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Adegorushen V, on the occasion of his 10th coronation anniversary.

The week – long anniversary which started last Saturday, will end on Sunday with a special thanksgiving service at the Patriarch Bolaji Methodist Cathedral Church Ikorodu, but the grand finale and book launch – “Ilufemiloba: The Royal Strides of a Classy Monarch” which is a compilation of impacts and activities of Oba Shotobi in the Last 10 years, will be held at the Musical Village on Saturday, August 9.

In a statement Governor Sanwo -Olu said that Ikorodu, under Oba Shotobi’s reign has continued to thrive as a hub of culture, enterprise, and communal pride

“It is with deep respect and profound admiration that I celebrate His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, on the momentous occasion of his tenth coronation anniversary and the launch of his insightful book, Ilufemiloba: The Strides of a Classy Monarch (2015-2025).

“A decade ago, the people of Ikorodu and indeed all of Lagos State witnessed the ascension of a monarch who embodies grace, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to the process of his people. In these ten years, Oba Shotobi has brought a refreshing dynamism and vision to the traditional leadership, balancing the timeless values of our cultural heritage with the demands of modern governance.

“Under his Majesty’s stewardship, Ikorodu has continued to thrive as a hub of culture, enterprise, and communal pride. His reign has inspired greater unity between the traditional institution and state government. Oba Shotobi’s tireless advocacy for infrastructural development, youth empowerment, and peaceful coexistence has left an indelible mark not just within Ikorodu, but across Lagos State,” Gov. Sanwo – Olu said.

The Governor commended the royal father for deeming it fit to document his activities n the last ten years.

“The book being launched today is yet another testament to His Majesty’s thoughtfulness and desire to document history while inspiring future generations. ” Ilufemiloba” is more than a chronicle of milestone; it is a reflection of a monarch who truly sees his reign as a sacred trust and service to humanity.

“On behalf of the government and people of Lagos State, I congratulate His Royal Majesty on this laudable anniversary. May your your reign continue to bring peace, prosperity, and honour to Ikorodu and to our dear state. And may history remember your strides as those of a truly classy monarch whose devotion to his people never wavered.

“Kabiyesi, igba odun, Odun Kan ni.”
