The new chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), has urged residents of his council to continue to play down his current status as the executive chairman of the council and the number one officer, and enjoined them to continue to see him as their son, friend and colleague.

Aroyewun made the appeal at his official resumption of duty on Monday, when the council management organized a reception for him, he also reiterated his GLORY Plan of Action, which he described as a blueprint to transform the council.

The new Chairman and his Vice, Barr. Ade Ayeni, at their resumption toured the offices and other facilities within the council. They also had a strategic meeting with the Council Manager to have first -hand knowledge about the situation on the ground.

“We will also be guided by our “ONA OGO” mantra and our GLORY Plan of Actions. The plan is not just another campaign material, it is a divinely inspired blueprint designed to transform IBLCDA in education, healthcare, food availability & affordability, infrastructure, youth empowerment, security, and environmental sustainability. The plan is my covenant with the people, and I shall pursue its execution with vigour.

“My dear people, today marks the beginning of a new chapter in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. I urge you to see the toga of “Chairman” as only an official mark of service. I remain your son, friend, brother, colleague who has been with you in the community all through the years and understands where the shoe pinches.

“Please work together with my administration to bring all our lofty dreams for IBLCDA into fruition. With your support, prayers and collaboration, I am confident that we will achieve the GLORY we envision. Let us leap forward with courage, unity and determination to write a story of progress that future generations will celebrate. As we proceed on this journey, my heart is filled with hope and optimism for the future of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and I pray that IBLCDA continues to make progress. To our dear state and nation, I pray for peace, progress, and unity as we collectively strive for a brighter future,” the new Chairman said.

Aroyewun who said that he is standing on the threshold of history, appealled to residents to live together in harmony and cooperate with his administration.

“As we embark on this new chapter, I specially seek for our commitment to only the ideals that promote the unity and peace of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. I

strongly appeal that we set aside our differences because our progress depends on our collective will to work as one.

“Together, we are unstoppable and there is no limit to what can be achieved when we stand as one indivisible unit. Let us hold fast to the Yoruba adage, “Agbajo Owo la fi n soya” which implies that it is with united hands that we achieve greatness.”

He also reiterated and emphasised that his administration will be fair in every part of the council by ensuring even developments.

“As reiterated during the campaign, I promise to run an inclusive, transparent, and accountable administration that leaves no one behind. My doors will always be opened to all leadership cadres, CDAs, youth and student groups, school children, market men and women, artisans, and every resident of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.

“I commit to regular town hall meetings, stakeholder engagements, and transparent communication to ensure that our collective concerns, ideas, and aspirations shape the direction of our LCDA. I assure you that under my watch there will be no exclusivity in development – every zone, every community, and every individual will benefit from our policies, programmmes, and initiatives. Together, we will co-create solutions and celebrate our successes as one family.”

He thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to grassroots development and for his inimitable leadership and further empowering all local government areas and councils nationally to firmly entrench grassroots development to the admiration of the Nigerian people. In the same manner, he also commended the Governor of Lagos State Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, for his unwavering commitment to development in the state.

In his royal remarks, HRM Oba (Barr) Semiudeen Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, congratulated the Council Chairman and his Vice on their emergence.

Adeboruwa urged residents of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA to support and cooperate with the administration for them to succeed.

Oba Kasali called them good ambassadors who will continue the good work of the last administration and urge them to heed advice that have been given to them to be successful.

The royal father prayed for the continuation of good developments during the present administration which Igbogbo/Baiyeku has been known for.

Dr Adeleke Dankuwo, President, Igbogbo Youth Forum (IYF),speaking at the event thanked the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA for picking a youth who is acceptable to everyone as the chairman.

While assuring the Adeboruwa of unity and cooperation among youths, the youth leader also pledged full support for the chairman and his administration.

There were traditional and other displays and presentation of gifts by groups.

Other eminent personalities in attendance were Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, former member, Lagos State House of Assembly and former Commissioner, Hon. Gbenga Oshin, former member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abdullahi, APC chieftain, Alhaji Sefiu Ogunyemi, APC chieftain and the Iyaloja General, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA among others.

There were also traditional chiefs, religious groups, market associations, NULGE, youth groups and others.
