-Inaugurates 6th Legislative Council

The Executive Chairman, Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDAs), Hon. Ameen Olawale Ibrahim Apanishile has announced that various projects facilitated by the representatives of Ikorodu Federal Constituency will commence in the next few months across the council.
He also unveiled his plans to organize a platform for people to share ideas on key issues and chart the way forward for the council.
The new Chairman who made the announcements at the Isiu council secretariat on his first day in office as the Executive Chairman, also inaugurated the 6th Legislative Council with Councillor Bose Benson Titilayo from Erikorodo Ward emerging as the Council Leader.

Councillor Idris Jimoh Liasu from Isiu Ward was elected as the Deputy Leader, Banjoko Babatunde Oluwaseun from Odogunyan Ward emerged as the Majority Leader and Seyi Onabajo from Olorunda Ward was elected as the Chief Whip. The other member is Risikat Abiodun Ibrahim from Agbala Ward.

“As we gather, let us remember that our party’s strength lies in our unity, diversity, and collective determination. Let us continue to work together, supporting one another and striving for excellence.

“In the coming days, we will discuss key issues, share ideas, and chart a course for Ikorodu North’s future, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s agenda and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES – Plus initiative.
“I encourage each of you to participate fully, sharing your thoughts and insights,” he said.

The new Chairman, announcing projects facilitated by Rep. Babajimi Benson and which would be embarked upon soon, also appreciated other partners of the council.
“I am pleased to announce that several key projects will commence in the coming months, facilitated by our Honourable Member of the House of Representatives, Babajimi Benson. These projects include: 1. Ita-Oluwo to Agbede Road, Radio to Eruwen Road, Abiodun Ogunleye Road, Second phase of Lucky Fiber to Sheriff Junction and Olorunda Secondary School.
“I also acknowledge the support of WaterAid, our NGO partner for the past three years, with whom we have completed several projects. We appreciate your shared ideas and commitment to our community.

“Once again, I welcome you all to this gathering. Let us make the most of this opportunity and continue working together towards a brighter future for our party and community.”
“At the proclamation and inauguration of the 6th Legislative Council, he enjoined the new Councillors to see their roles as a crucial one and presented the focus of his administration to the legislative members.
Hon. Ameen Olawale proclaiming the house said:

“Today, we gather to inaugurate the 6th Legislative Council of Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area —a significant milestone in our democratic journey and a testament to our commitment to grassroot governance.
“I congratulate our newly elected councillors and urge you to embody transparency, accountability, and integrity in representing your constituents. Your role is crucial in maintaining checks and balances and fostering people-centered resolutions.
“As your Executive Chairman, I am committed to collaborating with you for the peace and prosperity of Ikorodu North LCDA. Together, we will prioritize security, infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and poverty alleviation—key areas essential for our Council’s wellbeing and development.

He also commended members of the immediate past 5th House in the Council.
