
The newly constructed 11-bed Accident and Emergency Unit at Ijede General Hospital has been commissioned by the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Health Service Commission, Dr. Benjamin Eniayewun.
The state-of-the-art facility that was formally commissioned at the weekend, is expected to enhance the hospital’s capacity to respond to medical emergencies and provide quality healthcare services to residents of Ijede and its environs.
Joining the Permanent Secretary and the Medical Director/ Chief Executive Officer, Ijede General Hospital, Dr. Femi Aletan, at the commissioning were Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, the Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA and Builder Sesan Daini, the outgone Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA among other dignitaries.

In his remarks Dr. Aletan, who also marked his first anniversary as MD/CEO of the hospital, noted that the facility is on a path of steady expansion.
He reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to providing quality and accessible healthcare to all.
The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Benjamin Eniayeyun, appealed to local community leaders to make additional land available for the development of a maternal and child centre and other future hospital development projects.

He expressed confidence that, with continued government investment, residents of Ijede and environs would no longer need to travel far to access comprehensive medical care.
In her goodwill message, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba commended the Lagos State Government for its sustained investment in healthcare infrastructure in Ijede and charge residents to make good use of the hospital.
“I urge all residents of Ijede and its environs to take full advantage of the General Hospital,” she said.
