Education District II Shines At 2025 World Robot Olympiad Robotic Games

Mr. Olusegun Osinaike, Supervising Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary with one of the schools that made the district proud at the Lagos State 2025 World Robot Olympiad (WRO).

Education District II has once again demonstrated its leadership in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education, as students from the district emerged as top performers at the highly competitive Lagos State 2025 World Robot Olympiad (WRO).

At the event, which featured schools across the state, students from Education District II showcased exceptional creativity, teamwork, and technical skills, earning prestigious positions in various categories.

For the Future Innovators Category, Ojota Junior Grammar School clinched the first position. Also, in the World Robotic Olympiad, Junior category, Ojota Junior Grammar School and Eva Adelaja Girls Junior Model College took the second and third positions respectively, while Eva Adelaja Girls Senior Model College came second in the senior category.

In recognition of their outstanding performance, the students and their teachers were formally hosted at the District’s Headquarters by the Supervising Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olusegun Osinaike.

While congratulating the teams, Mr. Osinaike described the students’ achievements as a reflection of the District’s firm commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and the promotion of 21st-century learning, adding that the Lagos State Government remains committed to nurturing the next generation of problem-solvers, innovators, and global tech leaders.

“This remarkable performance is a proud moment for all of us. It underscores our dedication to preparing students for the future through quality STEM education. Our teachers and students have shown great determination and skill, and we celebrate their well-deserved success.”

He further commended the teachers for their dedication and encouraged the students to continue striving for excellence, urging them to aim for first place in future competitions at both national and international levels.

Mr. Osinaike also acknowledged the unwavering support of the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, whose visionary investments in education and technology continue to inspire innovation across schools in the State.
