Prince Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, Chairman-elect, Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has stated that residents of Igbogbo are proud of the iconic Aafin (palace) built by the outgoing administration of Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini.
The palace was commissioned by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, who was represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Bolaji Kayode Robert.
The foundation laying ceremony for the magnificent Aafin Adeboruwa was laid first week in March, 2025, and was commissioned Sunday, July 20, 2025.

In a statement celebrating the commissioning and its effects, the Chairman – elect described it as historic that gives people of the ancient town in particular and the generality of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA residents and others sense of pride and fulfilment.
“Today marks a historic milestone in the annals of Igbogbo Kingdom and Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), as a whole, and I beam with pride along with the people, residents, and well-wishers of IBLCDA.

“I join my brother, Bldr. Olusesan Mayorkun Daini, Chairman, IBLCDA, to welcome His Excellency, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu, the Governor of Lagos State to the commissioning of the magnificently reconstructed Adeboruwa Palace. More than the palace commissioning, Mr Governor’s presence in Igbogbo today will serve as a real morale booster to the people and residents of IBLCDA, as he continues to deliver transformational leadership in our dear Lagos State.
“With profound respect, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to my royal father, HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali (Emugoriade I), on the commissioning of the Palace. I also congratulate all chiefs and Baálẹ of the Adeboruwa-in-Council on this special occasion”.

Aroyewun also said that the Aafin will serve as a centre for the preservation of culture, and also emphasizes the dignity attach to the traditional institution in Igbogbo.
He commended the soon to be his predecessor, on the exceptional achievement.
“There is no gainsaying that the commissioning of the iconic palace reaffirms our collective identity as a visionary and loving people of Igbogbo Kingdom and IBLCDA. Beyond its architectural splendour, the palace represents a center for cultural preservation and peace building. As its royalty is conspicuous, so is the imprint of a royale legacy that the palace affixes in our consciousness.

“The grandeur of the edifice amplifies the dignity of our traditional institution and the enduring legacy that the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo represents.
“I express my special commendation to our dear Chairman, Bldr Olusesan Daini, for his exceptional leadership, and the management and staff of IBLCDA for their dedicated actions in bringing this landmark project to fruition. The palace stands to immortalize Daini’s giant strides and legacy of dedicated service to the good people of IBLCDA.

“My dear Alayeluwa, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Kabiyesi sir, as you continue to lead with wisdom and grace, I pray that the Almighty God will uphold you with good health and long life to witness more transformative projects that will serve humanity and honour God Almighty.
