Barely four months after the foundation laying ceremony for a Diagnostics Centre at the General Hospital Imota which started off the expansion of the medical facility which Rep. Babajimi Benson, representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, was instrumental to, the centre is set for use anytime from now.
The foundation ceremony for the diagnostics centre in Imota was performed by the Ranodu of Imota, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Ajibade Bakare Agoro, FCA, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

The centre when opened will have a Doctor’s Cabin, Sonography, Report Collection Desk, Report Area, Common Room, Ultrasound, MRO Scan Room, Scan Observation Room, Pathology & Microbiology Lab, Chemical Lab, Waiting Area and Toilet.
Our reporter toured round the facility on Tuesday, during the commissioning of the Accident & Emergency, General Out- Patient Department (GOPD) and Eye Clinic at the one year-old General Hospital Imota.

Recall that the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Benson paved way for the establishment of the General Hospital about two years ago after 40 years of waiting by the Imota community, with the facilitation of an 80 – bed Mother & Child Facility with state – of – the – art equipment.
Dr. Adenike Omosun, Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO), and the Ranodu of Imota speaking at the commission commended the federal lawmaker for his tireless efforts in ensuring that the General Hospital Imota was given a basis to kick – off by the lawmaker who is also playing crucial roles in its expansion with the diagnostics and other inputs.

Meanwhile, the 40 – bed trauma centre which is also facilitated by Rep. Benson at the General Hospital, Ikorodu and its foundation laid by the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Obafemi Kadiri Hamzat, in October 2024 is also getting ready for commissioning and use.
The federal lawmaker has also facilitated the construction of Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in his federal constituency.
