-APC also wins Ikorodu West LCDA

The incumbent Vice Chairman, Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Sunday Benson, has been returned as the Chairman – elect for the council after polling a total of 13, 539 votes to emerge winner of the Local Government elections on Saturday.
Hon. Sunday, who jointly contested the Chairmanship position with Princess Abisoye Jimoh, the Vice Chairman – elect, who is also serving as the Supervisor for Works in the outgoing Imota LCDA’s administration, contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), defeated candidates of the Labour Party (LP) and that of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The APC candidate was declared winner by the Returning Officer, Dr. Adetu H. Olawale, who also announced that the PDP candidate scored 144 votes to come a very distant second, LP polled 88 votes.
In Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, who is also an APC candidate was returned as winner with 12, 772 votes to be re – elected as Chairman for another four years. He was returned by Mr Azeez Adegbola, the LASIEC Return Officer in Ikorodu West LCDA.

He defeated Ajose Bolanle of the Labour Party who polled 374 votes and Bodunrin Adebayo of the PDP who scored 519 votes.
APC also won the maximum Councillorship positions in the two councils.
The Imota LCDA Chairman – elect, Hon. Benson Sunday after his election expressed appreciation to the traditional ruler of Imota community and political leaders across the Ikorodu Division and the generality of Imota residents.
