-Pledges stakeholders’ support for LASIEC

The leadership of Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has assured the Lagos State House of Assembly committee on Judiciary, Public Petition and the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) of its readiness to conduct the forthcoming Local Government elections in the council.
The Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo -Alogba, gave the assurance on Thursday, while welcoming the House Committee visiting the council on a comprehensive pre-election assessment ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The delegation led by Hon. Ladi Ajomale, during the assessment, expressed confidence in Ijede LCDA, citing a history of peaceful elections in the whole of Ikorodu LGA.

“We are here to ensure all necessary facilities, structures, and logistics are available to achieve a smooth and credible electoral process,” he said.
The committee chairman during the assessment of the existing facilities discussed measures to enhance smooth electoral operations within the LCDA.
In her remarks, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo -Alogba, assured the Committee of the LCDA’s preparedness, stressing the collaborative efforts between key stakeholders to ensure a successful election.

In a related development, the council on Wednesday also hosted the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) which came on familiarisation and inspection tour of the council ahead of the forthcoming polls.
Hon. Justice Bola Ighile, Chairman of LASIEC, who led the delegation explained that the purpose of the visit was to assess the council’s facilities and evaluate its readiness for the forthcoming polls.
“The Commission is fully prepared to conduct free, fair, and credible elections,” Hon. Justice Ighile said.

“We are here to discuss the necessary steps to ensure a seamless electoral process. We pledge to adhere strictly to electoral rules and guidelines, while working closely with stakeholders to guarantee a conducive atmosphere for voters,” the LASIEC head assured.
,The Ijede Council Chairman, expressed her gratitude to the LASIEC leadership for prioritizing the inspection of the council’s area commission office in preparation for the elections.
She assured the LASIEC team of the full cooperation of all key stakeholders in the council.

Other officials of the council that received the LASIEC team were Hon. Femi Kabir, the Vice Chairman, council executives, legislators, and management team members.
Both the Assembly committee and LASIEC have also visited other five councils in Ikorodu Division for assessment and familiarisation towards the forthcoming elections.
