The Executive Chairman, Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo -Alogba, has enjoined residents of her council especially Christians to be compassionate and extend love to others during the sacred season of Lent.
The council boss gave the charge as Christians began their 40 days fasting period with the observation of today as Ash Wednesday.
“As we begin the sacred season of Lent, I extend my warmest wishes to all Christian brothers and sisters in Ijede LCDA and around the world.

“This season is a time of deep reflection, sacrifice, and almsgiving and a period to strengthen our faith through prayer, fasting, and acts of kindness displayed by Jesus Christ.
“I encourage us to embrace the values of love, sacrifice, and compassion that the Lenten Season represents. May this season bring peace, strength, and abundant blessings to our households, and may God accept our prayers, and give us the strength to uphold the virtues of this holy month.
“Wishing you a meaningful and spiritually fulfilling Lent,” Hon. Alogba prayed.
