Ikorodu LG Provides Succor For 1,500 Residents

The Chairman of the Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina, has provided succor for residents of Ikorodu Local Government to cushion the effect of the economic challenges caused by the lockdown ordered by the Lagos State and Federal governments in an attempt to contain the spread of the deadly Coronavirus that is ravaging the global village.

The food support programme by the council was initiated by Conference 57, the body of the Chairmen of Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State in support of Governor  Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Food distribution initiative for 200, 000 houseolds in the state.

Speaking with THE IMPACT on the gesture, Hon Adesina stated that the provision of the 1,500 packs of food items was meant to provide succor for the people, especially vulnerable individuals, and also make them stay – at – home as directed by the government.

The Chairman also provided beneficiaries with financial support.

Aside the presentation of the relief materials and cash donations to selected residents and party members at the council secretariat, food items were also taken to many residents in their various homes.
