Distributed Food Packs Are Part of Our Ways Of Taking Care Of The People – Hon. Ademehin

The Chairman of the Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. (Princess) Jumoke Jimbo – Ademehin have stated that the 1,500 packs of food items distributed by the council were part of her government’s efforts geared towards the welfare of residents in the council.

Speaking with THE IMPACT at the venue of the distribution of  the food packs on Thursday (yesterday), she stated that physically challenged people, party members at council and ward levels, Muslim Community, Christian Association of Nigeria, Market association, artisans, National  Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Road Transport Employees Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) and traditional institution among others, benefitted from the council’s gesture.

“This is our own way of mitigating  the hardship that our people are facing at home due to the stay – at – home order. We need to take care of them. What we are providing for them is to support them during this period that they cannot engage in economic activities and fend for themselves”, she stated.

“The food items are to lessen their hardship and make them stay indoor as directed by the government.

“We are also doing this to support the state government’s food program meant to cushion the effect of the lockdown on the people, especially those that are vulnerable”.

Hon Ademehin appealed to the residents to abide with all the directives of the state government stipulated to contain the spread of the CONVID – 19.

“I also want to appeal to the entire residents in the council that they must comply with the government’s directive.

“The directives are meant to protect us and we must ensure that we stay indoor so as not to contact and spread the virus”, she stated.
