‘Dpee Tha Dragon’ Releases Song For His Home Town

Young Ewulogbo Dolapo, an Igbogbo-born rap act popularly known and called ‘Dphee Tha Dragon’ by friends and fans, has released his single, ‘Igbogbo Eyo’ which has been making waves.

The undergraduate student of the Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), Ikorodu campus, officially presented the hit single during the the just concluded 2019 Igbogbo Day celebration.

The upcoming rap act won the best rap act 2018/19 on LASPOTECH campus where he has been performing the tracks in the new song recently released on CD and others for the enjoyment of his fellow students.

The track, ‘Igbogbo Eyo’, was produced by HP Michael, is a song written by the music act to praise his home-town, Igbogbo, his families, prominent Igbogbo personalities, particularly, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo.

In the track, Ewulogbo revealed his paternal and maternal sides, which are rooted in Igbogbo Kingdom, to tell his fans where he hails from.

Speaking at the unveiling of the new song, which was held at the Shokkis Hotel in Igbogbo, Ewulogbo, who arrival on stage was heralded with a loud ovation by fans, friends, family members and guests, thanked the gathering for their presence.

He ‘killed’ his own show with his turbo charged performances which were delivered in Yoruba proverbs, incantations and philosophies.

His raps were clear enough for the audience to follow and understand and this enabled him to carry them along with his local dialect and also give them what they wanted.

His performance at various times received loud ovation from guests.

“I thank all the guests for attending this unveiling. You are here not because l am the best but for the love. That’s why you are all here to honour me”, he said thankfully.

“We are together in the quest to move Igbogbo forward and develop its entertainment sector”.

While introducing Ewulogbo to the audience, Babatunde Oluwatobi, aka ‘Mandela’, described him as a friend and role model.

“Dphee Tha Dragon” is no more an upcoming artiste but a music act that has come to stay” , he stated.

“One of his hit tracks, ‘Igbogbo Eyo’ has been repeatedly performed at various functions in Igbogbo and on LASPOTECH campus”, he added.

Artistes that were also in attendance to honour ‘Dpee Tha Dragon’ at the unveiling with their performances included Mino, Baba Immaculate, Mary T Don, Black Tone, King Maino and Ijebu Boy Esere.

The unstoppable family and Expression, the 2019 official LASPOTECH dance group, also enterained the guests with their dance steps.

Some of the guests that attended the unveiling event to support the music act were Barr Adeboye Dankwo, Director, National Assembly, Abuja, Hon. Gbenga Oshin, former Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Alhaji Hasbunah, Director with the Lagos State Government, Comrade Francis Mani Shonubi, Lagos East Senatorial Candidate in the last general election and Lati Odusanya , aka TySleek,  a rising music star also from Igbogbo Kingdom.
