Ramadan Lecture: Large Turnout Shows Approval And We Are Ready To Do More – Adeshina

The Chairman of Ikordu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina, has described the large turnout of residents at the 1st Ramadan Lecture organized by the council as good approval rating for his administration.

The topic of the lecture, which was chaired by Alhaji Abimbola Azeez Badewa, was, “The Role Of Leaders In A Society”, and was held at the Ikorodu LG Open Ground at Ita-Elewa, opposite Post Office, Ikorodu, located along Oriwu Road, Ikorodu, on Tuesday,May  21, 2019.

Alhaji Al-Imam (Dr) Shakirudeen Adegbolahan Abdu’ Rasaq Orilobamishe, the Amirul / National Missioner of Iradat Family, delivered the lecture.

The event was attended by scores of political leaders, councilors, party members and Muslim faithful.

“Since we are in the month of Ramadan, our administration deemed it fit that we should organise a Ramadan lecture to gather Muslim faithful and others and feed them with words of God so that they can turn a new leaf ”,  Chairman stated.

“The essence of Ramadan period is to preach to and bring lost souls back to the path of Allah.

“We are very impressed by the turnout despite the short notice and this shows that our people really accepted us. They really accepted our performance since the inception of this administration.

“We acknowledged their supports and we promise not to relent. We shall do more to develop our community and we are requesting for more supports ”, Hon. Adeshina stated”.

He thanked the party leaders, Iradat family, party members and the generality of Ikorodu people for turning out in large number to attend the event and for their continued support for his administration. .

In his lecture, Alhaji Orilobamishe commended Hon. Adeshina for sponsoring and organizing the maiden edition of the Ramadan lecture by the council, while also commending individuals that are also sponsoring various programmes during Ramadan period in Ikorodu.

He stated that such programmes have the blessings of God and would lead Ikorodu on the path of glory and development.

The guest lecturer also stated that all residents should see themselves as leaders and act in same manner if the society is to make any progress.

“We should all see leadership in ourselves and not just in others. It is only through this way of thinking that we can support those in position of authority.

“Since we are all leaders, we must work towards developing our community.

He stated that the large turnout at the event was because the council chairman is a good leader.

“People turned out in their large number for this programme because they see in Adeshina as a good leader”, he stated

“There are many that people will not honour if they invite them to gathering like this “.
