Asisat Oshoala Emerges First African To Score In Women’s Uefa Champions League Final

25-year-old Ikorodu-born female footballer and Barcelona (Women) FC forward, Asisat Osoala, made history last weekend after scoring in the final of the women’s Uefa Champions League competition.

The Nigeria international emerged as the first African female footballer to achieve the unique feat.

 The Super Falcons attacker was introduced as an 87th-minute substitute in the Saturday’s final which made it her third appearance in the competition.

 She came onto the pitch when her team was suffering a 4-0 loss to Lyon and scored just two minutes after her introduction to give Barcelona fans something to cheer about.

The goal ended up as the only goal scored by the Barcelona team in the match.

Despite her team’s loss, she also recorded another history by emerging as the first Barcelona player to score in the final of the Women’s Champions League.
