We’re Going Back To The Field To Mobilise Supports For Sanwo-Olu’s, Agunbiade’s Victory Come March 9 – Alh. Longe, Ikorodu APC Chairman

Alhaji Taiwo longe, Ikorodu APC Chairman

Alhaji Taiwo Longe, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in Ikorodu Local Government, in a short interview with Kunle ADELABU, the Publisher/Reporter-in-Chief, THE IMPACT newspaper, shared his views on the successful outing of his party in the Presidential, Senatorial and House of Representatives elections in Ikorodu and his expectations for the Governorship and House of Assembly elections on March 9. Excerpts:

IMPACT: In view of the just declared results for the Presidential, Senatorial and House of Representatives elections in Ikorodu, as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the local government, what is your reaction to the election generally?

APC Chairman: As far as I’m concerned, the election was free, fair and credible. My major concern is just that the turnout was very low. By and large, INEC has done a very good job in organizing the elections. But there is always room for improvement in the subsequent elections. The emergence of our candidates as winners shows the concern of the people. It shows that people still love APC.

IMPACT: Since you observed that the turnout was low, what do you think are the factors accountable for this and how are you going to deal with the situation?

APC Chairman: May be it was because of the disappointment that arose due to the postponement of the election two weeks ago. The zeal of the people for the election seemed to have dropped compared to the one they had before the postponement. But we as a party are not relaxing. We shall intensify our efforts to see that the turnout improves in the subsequent elections. We are going back to the field to senstise people to come out en mass to vote for our candidates on March 9.

IMPACT: What is your message to the electorate towards the next elections?

APC Chairman: I will implore them to come out en mass to finish their assignments by voting Mr Baabjide Sanwo-Olu as governor of Lagos State  Hon. Sanai Agunbiade as the representative of Ikorodu Constituency I  and Hon.  Nurudeen Solaja as representative of the Ikorodu Constituency II for the smooth running of the state and country.

IMPACT: What is your expectations regarding the senatorial elections in other parts of the district?

APC Chairman: I am very optimistic and confident that our senatorial candidate, Hon. Sikiru Osinowo, is going to win in other parts of the district. APC is the party that people believe in and we shall all go to the next level together.

IMPACT: Thank you for your time sir

APC Chairman: Thank you.
