Sports Commission Chairman, Tandoh, Charges Boards To Develop Talents

The Executive Chairman, Lagos State Sports Commission, Dr. Kweku Adedayo Tandoh has charged newly inaugurated Boards of 40 Sports Associations in Lagos State to scout for more talents from the grassroots in order to develop more sporting activities in the State.

 

Tandoh, who stated this while inaugurating the Board of Chairmen and Members of the Sports Associations at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall of Teslim Balogun, Surulere, added that the crop of people chosen to serve in the various associations are people of proven integrity.

 

He said “I am happy that even before being appointed, many of you have been actively involved in the activities of these associations. This shows the genuine passion that you all have for Sports and I believe confidently that you will not fail in these duties”.

 

While congratulating the new leadership of the Sports Associations, the Head of Service (HOS), Mrs. Folashade Adesoye expressed optimism that the team will take sports to a higher level in the State, noting that Lagos has enormous potentials to ensure that Nigeria is once again internationally recognised as a great sporting nation.

 

“I wish to congratulate the new leadership of the State Sports Associations. I am very sure that the enormity of the responsibilities you have accepted today as well as the very high expectation of medal-hungry Lagosians are not just for you. However, I have been well assured that you are all eminently qualified to discharge the duties and responsibilities involved in this enormous task,” she declared.
