2019 Elections: Lagos APC Announces Hamzat As Sanwo-Olu’s Running Mate

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially presented Dr Femi Hamzat as the deputy governorship candidate for the state.

The announcement was made on Sunday at the party secretariat, Acme Road, Ogba, Lagos.

Hamzat was officially declared the running mate to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the APC governorship candidate at the event, which was attended by party executives in the state,

Hamzat who was born September 19, 1964, attended the University of Ibadan where he graduated in 1986 with a degree in Agricultural Engineering and subsequently furthered his studies at home and abroad, resulting in both an MSc. in Crop Processing Engineering (1988) and a Ph.D. in System Process Engineering (1992).

He worked with the City of New York, RTP Consulting Services, Columbia University, Merrill Lynch Inc, Morgan Stanley and Oando Plc.

In August 2005, Hamzat was appointed Commissioner for Science and Technology during the tenure of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. A position he retained when Governor Babatunde Fashola assumed office in 2007.

He became Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure at the commencement of the second term in office of the Governor Fashola’s administration.
