Excel FC, Current FC Qualify For Bolowotan Gold Cup Quarter Final

-Ogunade Boys FC to face Victory One FC on February 5 in Osinowo Gold Cup in Ikorodu

Excel and Current Football Clubs emerged as the first two teams to qualify for the quarter final match of the 10th Bolowotan Memorial Gold Cup going on at the Police Barracks Playing Ground, along Igbogbo road,Ikorodu.
 
In the first match of the Round of 16 played on Sunday, February 4, 2018, Excel FC beat Super Force, which played with 9 players, 2 goals to 1.
 
Super Force started the match with 3 players short and was only able to hold Excel till the19th minute when its defenders attempted to keep the Excel strikers in an off-side position but the Centre Referee overlooked it, as Excel striker, Tunji Oyeyode (number 11), proceeded to beat the helpless Super Force goalkeeper to get the first goal of the match.
 
Oyeyode made it two goals in the 33rd minute with a clinical finish to seal the first quarter final ticket for Excel, while the Super Force lone goal was scored by Adekunle Adebisi ( number 7) in the 47th minute of the game.
 
The second match of the day between Golden Dollars FC and Current FC ended 0-2 in favour of the latter.
 
The players of the home team ( Dollars FC) who were relatively young, had a better game in the first half despite conceeding a goal in the 10th minute.However, Current FC dominated the second half of the match, scoring the second goal in the 66th minute.
 
Okeke Immanouz (number 9) and Ayesoro Samuel (number 13) scored the two goals for Current FC respectively.
 
Excel FC and Current FC would play in the first quarter final at 3pm on Thursday, February 15, 2018.
Ketu Grassroots FC would play against Ultimate Villa FC at 3pm on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, in the third Round of 16 matches.
The two matches would come up at the Police Barracks Playing Ground.
 
Meanwhile, Ogunade Boys FC would play against Victory One FC in the third quarter final match at the Ikorodu centre of the ongoing Lagos East Unity Cup tagged, “1st Bayo Osinowo Gold Cup”. The match is scheduled for 3pm today (Monday, February 5, 2018) at the Police Barracks Playing Ground .
The fourth and the last quarter final would be between Ikosi-Isheri FC and excel FC on the same day.
