2017 Ikorodu-Oga Day: Lagos Assembly Clerk, Arole, Adesanya,10 Other Public Officials Honoured At 9th Public Service Day

Mr Lateef Abolore Adesanya of the Governor’s Office in Lagos State receiving his excellence Service Award from Oba Kabiru Shotobi during the 9th Public Service/Local Government Day for Networking & Re-Union of the 2017 Ikorodu-Oga Day Celebration.

The Clerk of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Sanni Azeez Adebowale, Director, Welfare Matters, Public Service Office, Office of the Head of Service, Lagos State, Mr Adegbola Arole and an aide to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Lateef Abolore Adesanya among other distinguished officials of the Lagos State Government and Local Governments in the state were honoured with Excellence Service Award.

 

The honours were bestowed on them during the 9th Public Service/Local Government Day for Networking & Re-Union, a major activity in the ongoing annual Ikorodu-Oga Day Celebration.

The event was held at the main hall of the Ikorodu Town Hall on Friday, November 17, 2017.

Others conferred with the Excellence awards were Dr. Gabriel Adedotun S. Benson, Head of Department, Crop Production & Horticulture Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu main campus, Mrs. Omolara Erogbogbo , Executive Secretary LSTVEB), Comrade (Alhaji) Fatiu J. Salisu, Executive Chairman Ijede LCDA, Mr. Olusola Nurudeen Tobun, President Public Service Forum), Mrs. Us man Monsurat I. Folashade, Head of Administration in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, and Mr. Rotimi Babatunde, one of the founders/initiator of IKODASS

Also honoured were Comrade Ajose Afolabi S, President NULGE, Lagos State, Mrs. Titilayo Module Adedipe, Director Administration & Human Resources, Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA), Mrs. Olufunke Abayomi Moore, General Manager LTV  and Mrs. Alaska Raolat, Office of Chief of Staff Governor’s Office, Alausa.

 

The Chief Host/Chairman of IKODASS, Otunba Ganiyu O. Abiru,  in his address, expressed his excitement over the honour bestowed on distinguished public servants at the event.

 

He acknowledged the gigantic contributions of the Public Servants towards the development of IKODASS.

 

“I congratulate all Awardees for being chosen out of several hundreds of people. I want to advice all Awardees of IKODASS, that you have become our Ambassadors and which of course means that in words and actions, you must see yourselves as Role Models whose behaviors must be worthy of emulation”, he challenged the awardees.

 

The chief host concluded by making it clear that any money given to IKODASS will be judiciously spent and accounted for.

 

Barr. Olasunkanmi Longe, former Deputy Rector of the Lagos State Polytechnic and the Chairman of the occasion, urged Ikorodu indigenes and non indigenes to help build Ikorodu Division to greater heights.

 

Hon. (Mrs). Adebimpe Akinsola, acting Commissioner for Tourism/Special Adviser on Arts and Culture and the Chairperson of the occasion, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the invitation.

 

“I commend the IKODASS Chairman and the planning committee for organizing such a remarkable event”, she said.

 

Hon. Akinsola, who is also the Oluomo of Igbogboland, also congratulated the Awardees.

 

His Royal Majesty Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Chief Lekan Ogunbanwo, the Principal guest of honour, Alhaji Tairu Ogunleye and other distinguished guests were present at the event.

 

Also in attendance were chairmen and members of  NULGE from the six local government and LCDAs in Ikorodu Division (Igbogbo/Baiyeku, Ijede, Ikorodu North, Ikorodu West, Imota LCDAs and Ikorodu Local Government).

.

Donations were collected towards the building of IKODASS Civic Center and Bursary Awards for students.
